Moving out

This will usually take place the day you move out.

To ensure that the check-out process runs smoothly and efficiently, please make sure that:

  • your accommodation is completely clear of personal belongings;
  • your accommodation is clean and ready for a new tenant to move in;
  • any furniture is put back in its original position;
  • you allow at least an hour for this appointment.

The Check-Out Form

During your check-out appointment you will need to complete a Check-Out Form, which provides us with a forwarding postal address, email and your debit card details. This will enable us to contact you about the return of your deposit and to return any money owed to you (subject to any additional charges being deducted.)

Any chargeable items/work required will be stated on the form. You will be given a copy for your records. We will return a copy to the Estates Finance team for processing.

Returning your deposit

Your deposit will be returned to you (or to a third-party guarantor, if applicable), minus any necessary deductions, using the card details you have given us, in accordance with the terms of your Tenancy Agreement.

Your deposit will be returned to you within ten days from when we agree the final amount to return. You will be sent a copy of your final account, detailing the return of your deposit (and overpaid rent if applicable) minus any final charges.

Things to remember

We may need to show your rented property to prospective tenants during the last two months of your Tenancy.

We will notify you of the date and time of any viewing appointment at least 24 hours in advance, as set out in the agreement.
